It turns out a work colleague of mine is also reading Barak Obama ‘s Biography , and after talking to him , I only just realised - I’m actually reading the early years , and he the latter years , so we can’t even swap notes on the books – never mind :).
When I read a biography, I personally find the early years of someone’s life more interesting , and I love trying to work that in to the person they have become , plus the fact I love social history be it 15 or 150 years ago.
So it looks like I have - inadvertently chosen the correct book :)
I don’t think I’ll read the next issue , which in essence - details his “ political years” as I find politics and politicians highly uninteresting , as you all have all probably worked out by now :) .No - seriously , this is mainly because - I reckon the first book has certainly given me all the information I need to know about the real person , as that’s what it is all about , in my opinion.
The cult of personality is a well known ideal , and there is certainly some of this in the story , but saying that we all tend to cover up our short comings , especially in an authorised publication - its just human nature to do so. Thus taking all things as being the truth is probably not a good idea , but I think you can possibly get the gist of a person – regardless of the glossing over –exercise
The “ political glossing over “ in the book , certainly seems most apparent to me in the “everything to everyman “ – ideal , as we can’t have the President of The United States calling someone a motherf**ker – can we ……

……again this is something we all do, and of course - fall victim to :)
Human nature – huh - don’t you just love it :)
Talking of human nature - the guy on this morning sports news , said that if there was an Olympic gold medal for complaining about the weather – we in the U.K. would win it ……. hands down……it’s.so true :)
