Nu photograph is called –Turn the Page.

In the U.K. we have a relatively new ( ish ) phenomena of people placing simple memorials to others who have usually been killed in a road accident and I came across this particular one the other day.The items placed there were snapshots of this young guys life , which struck a chord with me and also made me realise again how lucky we are not to have our lives taken from us at such a young age , so I decided to turn the memorial in to a message of hope by “turning the page” and having bright - light washing through the image - if you see what I mean :)

The story behind my photo was - I went to a local gallery to see a couple of exhibitions by renown artists , I’ll not say who as I was unimpressed .

Part of the gallery is given over to kids decorating various items , and I came across the above - there , and it struck a chord with me as I now wonder who actually wrote this message of hope .

When I was in Tokyo last year , there was an item on the world edition of B.B.C. news and it was focused on a conference of young people from all sides who were debating the future of the middle east and to a person they wanted the warring sides to get around the table, it’s a shame their “elders and betters “ are not of the same mind !!! Hence I've decided to entitle my photograph - Hope of Youth.

You could give them the same conditions and “rights” as the former detainees , get our Cuban brothers to provide personnel for on site security / interrogation – probably for free , and then use Robert Mugabe’s “justice” system to try them , with Iraqi judges presiding…

Kowabunga

Uh – oh one of my so called “friends” has given my car a name .

Now I must admit I love mechanics and machinery but not to the extent , of for example giving my bikes names , although I used to have a champagne and crème coloured Harley Electraglide , which a friend very aptly entitled Marilyn - but that’s another story :)

Now you may get the feeling I’m skirting round the car name issue here , and I can’t think why :) , saying that , the above title may give a slight clue , but its nothing really to do with cartoon turtles .Ok….. Ok……. I’ll just come out with it – its Daisy , as in the cows name :)

The “logic” if you can call it that being - cow is part of the registration number , hence the TMNT link , which is even more tenuous .The above revelation will of course open all the flood gates to all you jokers out there , who will be totally and utterly - ignored :)

This is the point at which I blow any pretence of having any musical taste what so ever by the following announcement – I’m off to see old skool thrash bands Megadeth and Testament in February , but what I will say in my defence I was forced to go by my “wonderful” work mate – Evil Don , I think he must have put something in my tea :)

Too Much

I was “blue screen of death (d)” - last night .

This contrary to popular belief is not an exotic gothic website , but a slang phrase for your computer completely shutting down due to an error , and I have heard about this happening to others , but to be honest I’ve not had the “pleasure” - myself :)

My very own catastrophic error was due in part to a person who’s name I won’t mention – ok - ok it was Evil Don , who in all best intentions , crammed as much data on to a disc as is possible , including several different file types , and then me auto running it :)

If a computer could scream - I’m sure mine would have as its poor diodes , chips and memory were assaulted with zillions of bits of conflicting data, before turning its whole world - blue .

A quick switch off and re boot - later , it seems to be working fine , click off the auto run facility , and go get my baseball bat – now what’s Don’s house number – again :)

My One and All ???

Yesterday was a bit of a musically orientated day at work , which started with Evil Don ( who is a black metal fan ) and myself trying to convince Keith that the old Oasis record Wonderwall was in fact called - Windowall , and had Don and I duetting on our brand new version of the song - this was a sight / sound to behold – believe me , and that definitely didn’t convince Keith - either :)

Later in the day , one of my Bedwetter workmates brought the legendary –
Kaiser Chief c.d. in for me to loan , and it was sat on my desk for a while , when Evil Don walks in and looks at it very suspiciously , then goes to pick it up , but feigns a pain in his hand , starts thrashing around – very theatrically , and then says in a fake demonic voice…………

…. “ ARRRRGGGHHHH …..IT …BURNS ” ……


Music is definitely the food of the soul……… be it , black or otherwise :)

Lethal Force Authorised Beyond This Point :)

I'm currently sat here at work , with a five mile exclusion zone around me , and am fighting the filthy "plague" carriers off , with choice phrases like …….. "touch me and I'll sue " ……and of course a nice baseball bat in reserve , for those who don't heed my "wonderful – words of wisdom" :)

No you havn't strayed in to the set of a zombie movie - it's the dreaded , winter vomiting virus rearing up its ugly head in the U.K. :)I've avoided it so far , and just to be sure I think I'll go Japanese and wander around wearing a dust mask , or on second thoughts - a full hazmat suit with oxygen tanks and maybe an AK47 with an optional grenade launcher – just in case :)

Where ever Martin Luther King is I’m sure he’s having a bit of a wry smile to himself and that’s just at Aretha Franklins hat , what was she thinking :)

No that aside I was impressed by Barak Obama’s inauguration speech and sincerely hope he can deliver , and this is someone who dislikes politicians of all sides with a vengeance speaking here .

Personally I don’t see what all the fuss that the fact he is black is all about , it’s the person not the colour of the skin , which was admirably crystallised by the civil rights guy – Reverend Joe Lowery in saying –

“When brown can stick around”

“When yellow can be mellow”

“When the red man can be the head man”

And, when the white can…do right, I think.

If nothing else - you gotta like a guy who does community work before becoming the most powerful man in the world , welcome back to the world America and f**king good luck Obama :)
