They say smells of certain things - take you back years………………………..
I definitely think this is true , and to be honest , an awful lot of stuff take me back to my school days for some strange reason , and I reckon I must have been mentally scarred by it all :)
For example - on my way home from work I pass our canteen so the memories of school dinners, spring to my own tiny mind :)
The smell of wood takes me back to Technical Drawing lessons at school .
Metal to Metalwork lessons and so on , and so on ………………..
A trip out on my bike last week had me regressing even further in to the past , as going past some cottages , I smelt something that really took me back to my very early youth ……………….coal fires…………
Now - this used to be a common place thing in this area , as a good section of the population got free coal as a perk from working down the mines , but alas due to smokeless zones and closed mines its a very , very rare thing today .
It’s supposedly Spring here at the moment , although minus 5 degrees C says
otherwise , and you still have lots of leaves on the cycle track at the moment , thus there is a wonderful earthy smell as you ride through them , and I just wonder in the future , will this aroma - bring me back to now :)

I have however , received a list of duties for next week , but with the provisor that they could change at any time !!! - although saying that - I’m just hoping the one earmarked for 16.00 on Monday afternoon will change , as its against my “religion “ to stay at work beyond 15.30………….:)

Three…Two…One…GO…………CRUNCH… !!!
Now after two weeks in the starting gate , you’d think my sprint start would be blunted ever so slightly, but no off I went at 100mph – today , and you all may be surprised to learn all went well on my secondment for at least the dizzying heights of - half an hour - until the computer system governing this project – crashed .
So I’m back again :)
The main news of today is - I’ve had to temporarily cancel my holiday to Japan this month , due to unavoidable personal circumstances , but rest assured I’m fully insured and I will re arrange it for later in the year.

Oil and Water
Now - considering how fundamentally different the policies and beliefs of the various political parties around the world – supposedly are , and after throwing the …
………“ It’s for the good of the country “…… rubbish straight out of the window…..
I still find it very, very odd , how after The Hung Parliament in the U.K. – certain groups of “ diametrically opposed politicians” , can in principle - very quickly throw aside the majority of their deep-seated differences, which they all used in their election campaigns , and in doing so - almost immediately “jump into bed” with the opposition .
So does this say that we are we now beyond the point where we actually need to have - different political groups , if they are so willing to sacrifice the very principles their own parties are built on , never mind the very basis of their election to government by the people - so readily , or is it just a bunch of desperado’s scrabbling to save their own scrawny necks – maybe :)
Throwing ethics out of the window for a moment :) - the thing is - it seems they are unable even to do this properly , as these negotiations have seemingly hit a stalemate between two parties , but after a resignation they are continuing again , but with yet another - separate party .
I’m just thinking - if people ran their own lives like this , the world would be in absolute and utter - chaos …..
………………….and you wonder why I didn’t vote :)

The Art of Cynicism

Degrees in Cynicism and Sarcasm –
Now there’s a pair of “academic” qualifications, that you can probably only get in The University of Life :)
The long and very , very arduous - process , to get these highly sought after qualifications , will ultimately take hours and hours of meticulous daily use , through - years upon years of study , in order to fully hone your skills enough , to be a fully fledged - Grand Master of these ancient English arts .
You can forget your Fight Club’s of the world –
This is miles better, as you don’t need to be schizophrenic- although this could
help :) , not tell anyone , recruit figments of your own imagination , or even get physically hurt – either , as this is all purely verbal sparring. , which is based on wit and intelligence.
The above , is of course - suitable for all sex’s and ages , and not just some sweaty blokes stripped to the waist in a basement ……...who may or may not exist………
…………..depending on your own mental state :)
Unfortunately – all the hard work you put in to qualifying and maintaining your creative art - all falls flat on it’s face , when some one has the ultimate audacity to call you a……

“ funny !!! ….whaddya mean …funny…!!! “
I mentioned a while ago that I started translating my various scribblings in to Japanese on my blog spot , but after all this time you would have thought I’d have realised that - ironic English humour does not really carry very well over international borders , which is in itself - understatement of the week :)
This actually reminds me of an old Star Trek episode - where Jean Luc Picard is stranded on a planet with an alien , who is obviously speaking English , but you cannot understand what on earth they are saying ., in that the words are correct - but the sentences them selves , simply make no sense .
Well that is until its explained – that they are actually using to anecdotes
( experiences ) to communicate with , and its only then - that , it all falls in to place as you look at it from a totally different perspective.
Who ever wrote this particular episode has obviously got a sense of the individuals- differing perspectives on life in general , and I reckon this definitely applies to humour too , which is probably why we find each others humour so difficult to understand , well that is - unless it’s explained………….
…………………………and who mentioned - “ waiters and flies in soup” ….:)
The Art of Conservatism.

Now there’s an odd title , especially as you usually do not connect conservatism with modern art in any shape or form , anyway - read on to find out why ………
I saw yet another interesting B.B.C program about modern art the other night , and it focussed on Andy Warhol this time , and this must have been in the back of my mind as the entries to this years Turner Prize ( for modern art ) was announced

That aside - I reckon Andy’s work is highly iconic , but in a take it or leave it fashion .
I loved his non pretentious attitude , when being asked to describe what it was all about , and the program itself , actually hit the nail right on the head , by saying that Warhol followed the lead of classical artists before him, in that all their art reflected the time they lived in – simple as that, and hence his own the focus on consumerism
Now - this years Turner Prize entries -
Well there’s surprisingly no - unmade beds , sharks / sheep in formaldehyde or even store rooms with the lights flashing on and off ………..absolutely shocking ……….:)
Instead we have ………… conservative is the new Avant – garde…. !!!.........
So can we see maybe - a neat and tidy - made bed , a happy gold fish in a nice bowl of water , or maybe even a storeroom with the light…….*GASP*…….
………………………not flashing on and off :)
…with the artists - all dressed in beige sweaters and brown cords ……
…………………sorry I’ve just feinted – here …..*swoon*…….:)
No seriously - go hunt down this years entries, and regardless of what the art looks like , I’ll bet you there will be a pretentious explanation with each and every one of them.
Which I suppose in itself does reflect our own modern society - more than the art itself - albeit totally and utterly - unintentionally :)

私は他の夜の現代美術についてはまだ別の興味深いBBCの番組を見た、それはアンディウォーホルこの時間集中、これが今年のターナー賞（現代芸術にエントリとして私の心の奥にされている必要があります）に発表された

私は他の夜の現代美術についてはまだ別の興味深いBBCの番組を見た、それはアンディウォーホルこの時間集中、これが今年のターナー賞（現代芸術にエントリとして私の心の奥にされている必要があります）に発表された

それはさておき - 私はアンディの作品は非常に象徴的であると把握し、それを取るか、それを残してのファッションです。

... ...私はfeintedて申し訳ありません - ここに... ..*気絶* ... ...：）
真剣に - この年のエントリダウン、狩りに行くと関係なく、アートがどのようなもので、私はそこに、各それらの一つ一つにうぬぼれた説明されることを賭ける。
私はそれ自体が想定我々自身の現代社会を - 芸術そのもの - にもかかわらずより反映して全面的に全く - 誤って：）

Hung Parliament
Now there’s an ironic statement - if you decide to take it literally :)
Surprisingly enough its not a new form of capital punishment, with loads of grey suited thieves, hanging from the gallows ………………
………………………what on earth were you all thinking – here :)
I’ve taken a chance in actually writing this in advance of today’s election results in the U.K. , as I expect that none of the political parties will get a majority - hence the title.
This of course has now got me thinking about what would happen if the majority of the populous here decided not to vote, and I just wonder if our political masters are thinking this same thought , as their campaigning seems to be absolutely – frantic , and we have also been absolutely - inundated with the election campaign up to the point where people are complaining about the overkill - election coverage in the media
With this in mind - would a government actually be elected on the space of a few votes .or is there some kind of a lower threshold to make the election - null and
void , due to a severe lack of people taking part , or is this just in reality a way of politicians saving face if the above did happen , by saying it’s a Hung Parliament ………….….makes you think ……
Me - I prefer the capital punishment explanation – but then again I would –
wouldn’t I :)

今私は、人口の大半はここに投票しないことに決めた場合、何が起きるかを考えて、私はちょうど彼らの運動は絶対に - 必死と思われるかのように我々の政治マスターは、これと同じ思想を考えている、我々かだもちろん、これは持っています絶対 - 選挙が殺到もされている最大の人々は行き過ぎ - 選挙報道メディアについて訴えている点に

To Statelessness and Back.
Well - I did originally think I’d have to severely amend my working times due to this secondment , but after yesterdays goings on it seems not - for a while at least :)
Now as you all know I usually go to work fairly early , but with this secondment supposedly starting – yesterday , I set off at 8.30am .as opposed to the usual 6.00am.
The first part of my journey involved passing the dreaded parents dropping their severely overweight offspring’s off at school - as I went - counting “only” four near misses in the space of 100 yards ( 80m ) , leaving me to wonder if anyone there - actually had a driving licence :)
The worst bit though was missing the solitude , rising sun and the various animals scurrying around on the countryside part of my journey , and after a slightly amended route I arrived for my secondment – raring to go ……….. or so I thought…………….
The whole of yesterdays farce would have been made slightly easier if we were actually informed that the process wasn’t going ahead in a timely fashion , as opposed to several hours later , but at least e did put the time to good use by discussing politics and of course the upcoming election in the U.K.
I do admit - the majority of Union Rep’s tend to have Socialist leanings , and I do to an extent , but it all ends there as regards my own political views , which it seemed – horrified several of my colleagues, and this turned to absolute terror or so it seemed :) , when I started talking about ……….
…….* GASP *……not voting …!!!
To be honest I’ve heard all the arguments against not voting , so none of what people were saying were new to me – unfortunately , but I’m sure what I was saying was new to them .
Now if people want to vote - please , please do so – it is your right , but to be honest I cannot - in my own conscience - vote for a corrupt / hypocritical system that I fundamentally do not believe in - merely because I can…….
……….but hey that my right - too:)

さて - 私はもともと私が深刻な私の時間をこの出向のための作業を改正する必要があるだろうと思うでしたが、その上に昨日の出入り後いないようだ - のために少なくともしばらくの間：）
皆さんご存知のように今は、通常、かなり早く仕事に行くが、この出向おそらく開始 - 昨日で、私は8:30に出発。いつも6:00に反対している。
私の旅の最初の部分は恐ろしい親を自分たちの深刻な肥満の子孫をドロップ渡す関係学校でオフだ - 私が行ったとして - カウント"のみ"の4つの近くに100ヤード（80メートル）、私は疑問に思うままの空間に抜けていれば誰が - 実際に運転免許証があった：）
最悪のビットはかかわらず、孤独が不足し、太陽が昇ると、さまざまな動物の周り私の旅の田舎部に慌てであり、私は出向に到着若干修正ルート - 行きたくてウズウズし後... ... ... ..または私は思った... ... ... ... ...。
私たちは実際にそのプロセスが先にタイムリーに、数時間に保存が、反対少なくとも電子でうまく利用して政治を議論して時間を置いたんだっけつもりはなかった通知された場合昨日の全体が茶番は少し簡単に行われていること英国のコースと選挙
私が認めるか - ユニオン担当者は、の社会的傾向を持っている傾向があるの大半を、私はある程度は、それはすべてが自分の政治的見解、それはそう - びっくりした私の同僚のいくつかに関しては、これは絶対的な恐怖になって終わるあるいはそうに見えた：）、私が話を始めた... ... ...。
... ... .*実例が何* ... ...は投票...！
正直に言うと私は投票していないに対するすべての引数を聞いたことがあるので、人々は私に新しいと言っていたか - 残念ながら、私は必ず私は彼らに新しいものだったと言っていたんのなし。
人々がしたい場合は今すぐ投票する - してください。くださいので - それはあなたの権利ですが、正直私は根本的に信じていない破損/偽善的システムのための自分の良心に私はできません - - 投票する - 単に私ができるので、... ...。
... ... ...。しかし、ちょっと私の右にある - も：）

...of left and right hands.................
Well - I was due to start my Union secondment today , and I gotta say I was absolutely raring to go after , receiving my training a few weeks ago …….
…………………………famous last words- huh :)
You can see what’s coming here can’t you ………….
Well I’m afraid all 11 Union Rep’s - enthusiasm , was severely dented almost immediately , as the first problem was squarely ran in to , and that being - our Management friends had for some odd reason , not trained their own representatives – up...!!!.............................don’t ask me why …………………….
Now - I do find the above very , very hard to believe - considering we have all been aware of this project for at least - several months, and this scheme itself has a highly rigid timetable , with disciplinary action been threatened to all the officers leading the project on the management – side , if this programme is not strictly adhered to.
The 11 of us were genuinely - set and ready to go , but as I say we were all severely let down , and the even more ironic part to it all being - we ( The Union ) will probably have to defend the self same - Management Officers if the disciplinaries are taken forward by our employer , as I’m assuming this was not just an idle threat .
Well anyway , the “plus “ point is - I’m back here for a week at least , but I’m certainly not holding my breath – that’s for sure :)

最初の問題は直視するには、実行されたとしてさて、私は恐れて全11連合担当者の - 熱意、ポーランド共和国は深刻なすぐに、凹んでいたとされて - 私たちの経営の友人が奇妙な理由で、自分の代表 - 最大..訓練していなかった.!!!.............................は私に聞かないでなぜ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ...。
今 - 私は、非常に困難を信じて - 私たちはすべてこのプロジェクトを認識して数ヶ月以上 - で、このスキーム自体が、懲戒処分のすべての役員をリードすると脅迫されて剛性の高いスケジュールを持ってのされている考慮の上見つけるのですか管理プロジェクト - 側は、このプログラムは厳密に守られていない場合。
11私たちの純粋された - セットと移動する準備が、私は我々が深刻な失望され、さらに皮肉な部分へのすべてのされて - 私たちは（連合）は、おそらく自己同じを守るためにあると言う - 管理役員disciplinaries私たちの雇用者によって前進している場合、私はこれはただのアイドル脅威ではないと仮定しています。
まあとにかく、"プラス"ポイントは - 私はここに戻って1週間だ、少なくとも私は確かに私の息を止めてではない - それは確かだ：）
