Now there’s a blast from the past - I received an e- mail today from a guy I used to work with saying
“it was probably safe to come back after 10 years “
No - I didn’t try and feed him to a great white shark as the title suggests – either :)
This guys nickname , which I didn’t give him , at that time was - Sharky , as Al as we shall now call him , was a bit of a “predator” when it came to chatting up women..
We even put a cardboard fin on top of his car which was known as The Sharky Mobile , to celebrate this :) , as the many photo’s stuck on our wall at work reminded me of today .
In fact - there are about 100 or so photographs of various employees on this particular wall - stretching back to the 1960’s .Some old black and white ones of the original staff , blurred colour ones - shot in the 70’s , and various Xmas parties from the 80’s and 90’ , along with various at work shots , and I even brought a video camera in once about 10 years ago , so a day in the life is preserved for posterity - a future You tube addition – maybe :).
Talking of posterity - I must bring my digital camera in to work - sometime soon , and copy all the photo’s on the wall , as some of them are a little ravaged by time – to put it mildly and I certainly don’t want all our experiences slipping away in to time – unnoticed :)
I dropped Al an e- mail back , and said he should come visit us , although I reckon there are probably only three of us left from those days , for him to “wallow in the nostalgia” - with , and then go and chat up everyones wives and girlfriends in the process – of course :)
