You may have gathered that I usually go too far in most things – titles included - probably after reading my various antics on here , and this usually ends in tears , not that that ever stops me , and Friday’s particular “tears” was a pulled muscle in my back :)
I went to the gym as usual on Friday , cycled home and then decided in my “wisdom” to wash the inch thick of accumulated concrete dust off the car , then got even more - sidetracked cleaning the wheels – afterwards , and it was just when I went to stand up I felt a sharp pain in my back
Hence - no article on the news over the weekend about Damien Hirst’s Harley been “stolen” :)
Talking of health or lack there of , in my own case :) , I reckon we have still got one of the top three health care systems in the world , regardless of the current decline, and I made a few comments as regards our Health Service last week after visiting a relative in hospital , and these included views - regarding - partial privatisation of the service and the subsequent lowering of standards in all areas.
To go off on an even further tangent, but there is a link - photography is one of my hobbies , and I came across a wisecrack recently on a website from a certain country
– guess where :) , which went along the lines of – “ this camera is expensive in foreign countries , due to the taxes levied on it to pay for healthcare “
Well I’m highly tempted to make a crack back , but to be honest its simply not worth it , and will say that extra money is well spent if it is put in the right hands , and you can read on about this ………
I noticed on my last visit , that there were several official looking people wandering around the hospital with clip boards , which a nurse informed me …….“were bed inspectors” and next week you have the window sills inspectors !!! , and she then said that was the tip of the iceberg as regards the layers of created - useless jobs - now in the service , and of course uttered the immortal words………………
.. “the money could be better spent on care “…
To be honest this is life at the sharp end , and what happens if you involve greedy right wing business men in to these tax payer funded systems.
You must remember that the basis of our Health Service is not to make money , but to provide health care , and as I say it still does regardless of their interference , but unless something is done , I reckon it will come to a stage when it will unfortunately fail , but rest assured – all the beds and window sills will all be in good order .
