The Queen’s speech in the U.K.is an age old tradition whereby our monarch passes new laws on behalf of the government - ok enough English history..
Considering all the uproar about M.P’s expenses recently , and the fact politicians absolutely love to pass laws within laws within laws – mainly to justify their own
jobs :) , there has been no specific legislation put forward to combat political corruption.
The official line being - current legislation will be sufficient to deal with it.
Now - unfortunately any kind of findings in the recent official enquiry seem to have absolutely no legal binding , a fact politicians knew about before the Queens Speech , so how can existing laws be used to combat corruption .
Oh sorry I’m being terribly naïve here , aren’t I - politicians passing laws to disadvantage themselves – surely not :)
( in the ) Thick of it

I’ve actually discovered a comedy program I actually like - no big deal I hear you thinking - but in my case its an absolute godsend , and this is because and I do admit I’m - awkward in the extreme - when it comes to humour .
I tend to like – intelligent – fast moving , humour , and a program called The Thick of It - fits the bill , although be warned it is abrasive as drinking crushed glass, and of course every other word is a swear word , including the infamous C**t word , hence it being on after 10 o clock at night and tucked away on B.B.C. 2 . .
This is the third series - the other two unfortunately escaped my attention , and I suppose you could call it political satire , as its based in a government office and focuses on all the spin that goes on behind the scenes , but the main attraction is its so non politically correct. This is rather like the various programs of the 70’s which occasionally get repeated on satellite , where you had - tits , puffs and black characters called Golly , and maybe I’ve become a little brainwashed myself , but I spluttered in to my tea - when I heard the latter - the other day :)
My latest hoot is ripping the piss out of political correctness - right to the point where it becomes absolutely and utterly – ridiculous , but then again – that’s the point of it all :)
I was in a clothes shop at the weekend and a young white assistant was talking to a black customer as I walked past , and he was telling him about the colours of T shirts they stocked .
He was saying “we have that style in red , blue , green and black……………. “
………….and as soon as the word ….black…. came out of his mouth
I said in a faux shocked voice ….
…………….”are you allowed to say that ……!!! “…………:)…
