I think I’d probably go for the latter species, and just have a spaceship full of these annoying characters - chasing just Stephen Hawkins around - leaving everyone else on the planet in peace.
Although when they do catch him , I reckon there would probably be no need to assimilate him …………. as he’d fit in ………….just perfectly :)
