I will try and help anyone regardless of who they are , but it seems some people are totally beyond it :)
Take one day last week – Dave - one of our older members of staff was sat behind one of the computers looking at our Intramap System .
Intramap is basically a very detailed map of our area and nowhere else - in fact its like one of those old maps with “ here be ye monsters “ written on it beyond the district boundaries , and it looked like Dave was seemingly getting nowhere with it after half an hour.
He continued for a while longer and then said -
……“ this Goole Earth thing isn’t very good …… I can’t get out of the district .!!! “
Reading between the lines - Dave had obviously seen other staff using Google Earth and had mistaken Intramap for it , and it was only at this point I realised that::)
.
Now - surprisingly I can be fairly diplomatic , and yes I do know older people and technology sometimes do not mix - complaints to the usual address – please:) , so I just walked over and installed Google Earth for him , and he’s now happily cruising the Caribbean instead of the back streets around the local docks :)
