I’m always interested in the exact point at which something happens for example - an
Eureka “ light bulb “ moment - on one hand , or maybe- the point at which an honest man gives up.
It is in all of our nature is to be influenced - especially if your own thoughts go against the grain of those around you , or more so - against acknowledged wisdom of the world
Throughout history - certain individuals have gone against the grain and have made wonderful break through’s , which consequently has totally and utterly benefited mankind .
The downside of this is they usually - having to bear the scorn of their more conventional colleagues around them for many , many , years ., but these people have been tenacious enough to weather the storm , and eventually triumph to all of our benefit .
I do understand that these pressure does get higher the more important and high profile your position becomes , and I’m thinking of “my old mate” - Barak Obama – here.
Who surprisingly - spent the majority of his Nobel Peace Prize acceptance speech justifying war !!! , and even went as far as comparing The Second World War ( WW2 ) to Afghanistan and Iraq !!! .
The irony of the war and peace aspect aside , as I’ve talked about this many times before :) .
The WW2 comparison may have cut some ice with the under informed , but you simply just have to check the history books as regards “aggressive war “ , and if you are going to compare these two , we’d be the bad guys - as we invaded Afghanistan and Iraq - and it was us who are waging an aggressive war, and please don’t insult anyone’s intelligence by using the so called - “war “ on terrorism to justify it either., as the main perpetrators of 9/11 were Saudi Arabian nationals.
I’m actually - taken aback - that an apparently - intelligent and informed person like Obama – could come out with this type of rhetoric , but on further thought - I can’t help but think that this speech is something George Bush would have said , or more correctly - been told to have said……………
