Kettles are the way forward -
What with their serious in built - mood lighting - that changes as the kettle boils from cool blue to burning red , hordes of multi function buttons , boil faster stripes , and of course - their lustrous chrome plated hides - that glint seductively in the sunlight :).
I have to say - the “good old “ tin plated - whistling kettle seems a bit like a stone age implement in comparison to these sleek - modern – beauties :)
Yes you guessed it my kettle has broken , and if by , some twist of fate so has Evil
Don’s !!!
Thus - both of us were on a quest to get a new one at the weekend., but we both came back with two completely different items. , which is not surprising considering the myriad of kettles you can choose from today , .but to be honest this was mainly because - my brief was totally different to Don’s - my kettle was replacing my work one and his was for home use .
So whilst he was being seduced by the hi tec , I was stumbling over the low brow , and guess what - the first thing I stumbled across in Neanderthal Joe’s Kitchen Supplies and Spears :) ……. was ……….and yes you guessed it ……..a good old
tin plated whistling one - which was summarily rejected - as I don’t have a camp fire in my cave………… …errr…………sorry…………office…………. :)
I settled for a £4.99 jug kettle in the end , and sacrificed taking some of my tasty Tyrannosaurus Rex sandwiches to work on Monday , as it would not all fit in to my bag - then Don turned up - and the topic of the day was of course – kettles :)
If you have indeed got this far , I reckon your sick of this , so to cut a long story
short - he did buy an expensive kettle with a lazer light show and a myriad of other functions , but it took him well over half an hour to work out how to open the
lid ……… never mind use it ……….!!!
Technology huh ………….don’t you just ……L U R V E …… it :)

Seriously - I can only use one analogy here , and that is –
