The above is an old photo shopped picture, I took in Tokyo on my first trip – there , and I “imaginatively “ entitled it Planet Tokyo - mainly because it does look like another planet after I finished messing around with it – more than anything.:)

……………according to one travel article , I read recently :).
My own travels- there , are pretty well documented over the years , and range from the initial culture shock of the first time , and believe me it really, really is a
shock :), to how I’ve now become increasingly familiar with not only Tokyo but Japan , and its people over the years.
I’ve said this in the past - Tokyo itself looks like a modern - Western City , but scratch the surface and it really is very , very different , and if you can understand this your well on your way – whether or not it’s another planet or not - remains to be seen.
Due to my enthusiasm for the place , I’ve always had a lot of people ask me why I continue to visit , and it’s simply because of this total and utter diversity .
To be honest - I’m not really an adventurous person , .I cannot speak Japanese fluently , have got an awful sense of direction , had not tried Japanese food , but I had read extensively about the customs and codes before my initial visit , learnt a few words of the language , and of course - practiced my lost tourist face.:)
I think the web can cushion you a little to these effects , as I actually ran across a website before my first trip – there , and this is an absolute goldmine of information about Japan- I still use it - and heartily recommend it to anyone who is even considering going there .
