They say lightning never strikes twice ……….
Well I think I’ve dodged it twice - in the metaphorical sense - of course :)
I’m usually first in at work , hence its normally pitch black in our building , and on this particular morning – several years ago – as I went to switch the light on , I heard a strange noise and hesitated slightly as the air felt humid - almost electrically charged - like before a thunderstorm.
So I momentarily stopped myself , and this feeling could have saved my life , as water had been dripping from a leak on to the switch , and there was a flood of water on the floor under it – one more step and I was probably frazzled ………………………
Well - I had the self same feeling today , and guess what it had happened again - leaky pipe on to the switch , with a big puddle of water !!!
The first time was just simply a leaky pipe and nobodies fault, but this particular incident had a saga attached to it , which I will gloss over, but to be honest the cause this time , looked like sheer irresponsibility to me , and this was something that could have resulted in serious injury or even death , if I hadn’t had my wits about me.
