“To look after and sort out “…………..,

Hmmm ……….not quiet as catchy as to ………

....“protect and serve” …

……I do agree - but hey it means the same thing in the end , although I think my ad man may receive a call on this subject :)

Yes – where’s this one going I hear you asking yourselves……yet again ………

Well - take a look at the photos above , as D.T.
( pictured ) and myself , were out on site in our vehicle last week , and we were driving down a very steep hill , when I saw a cement truck had dropped a very , very large piece of wet , but setting very rapidly concrete - slap - bang in the middle of the road !!! .

This spillage was at least 6 inches thick ( 15cm ) , 20 inches wide ( 50 cm ) and at least 20 feet ( 600cm ) long , and as I say setting rapidly , so us being the good samaritans in disguise that we are , I directed the traffic and D.T. cleared it all off the road - at great bodily risk to ourselves I may add .

Now on reflection - I always get the impression that this kind of public spirited behaviour is frowned upon now a days by some sections of society , and although we followed all health and safety procedures to the letter as regards removing this
hazard , if there was an accident due to our actions we would probably be liable , regardless of the mayhem an unexpected concrete barrier in the middle of the road would have definitely caused to drivers .

Damn if you do damn if you don’t :)
